Providing clean water to 200 residents in Sindh, Pakistan through the construction of a new well.
Project Overview: This project aims to address the critical need for clean water in Gareebabad Union Council Rohanjo Tehsil Khipro District Sanghar, located in the Sindh region of Pakistan. The village faces significant challenges in accessing safe drinking water, with residents relying on contaminated sources that contribute to widespread health issues such as waterborne diseases, including cholera, dysentery, and typhoid. By constructing a new well, the project will provide the community with a sustainable and reliable source of clean water, directly improving health outcomes and overall quality of life.
Project Objectives: The primary goal of this initiative is to ensure that every resident of Village A has access to clean and safe drinking water. Alongside the construction of the well, the project will also implement a robust community education program focused on water management, hygiene practices, and sanitation. This comprehensive approach aims not only to address the immediate need for clean water but also to promote long-term behavioral changes that will safeguard the health of future generations.
Sustainability and Impact: This project is designed with sustainability at its core. The well will be equipped with durable, low-maintenance technology that can withstand local environmental conditions. Community members will be trained in the upkeep and maintenance of the well, fostering local ownership and ensuring its longevity. In addition, educational workshops on hygiene practices—such as proper handwashing, water storage, and sanitation—will reduce the risk of waterborne diseases, further enhancing the overall impact of the project.
Partnerships and Community Engagement: Collaboration with Panni Project and residents is central to the success of this project. Engaging the community from the outset ensures that their needs and concerns are addressed, fostering a sense of ownership and accountability. The project will also partner with local health organizations to provide ongoing support in monitoring water quality and conducting health assessments. These efforts will enable us to measure the long-term benefits of the well and adjust our approach as needed.
Long-Term Vision: The construction of the well is just the beginning. This project is part of a larger effort by the Pure Ripple Foundation to address the water crisis in underserved regions of Southeast Asia. By improving access to clean water, we not only enhance health outcomes but also unlock new opportunities for education, economic development, and gender equality, as women and girls—who traditionally bear the burden of water collection—will have more time to pursue education and work..
